Najja Akinwole is a multi award winning animator and teaching artist from Baltimore, MD who loves crafting anything fantastical and weird. She received her BFA in animation with a minor in illustration from the Maryland Institute of College Art (MICA). She recently debuted on the international festival circuit with her animated short film How Was Your Day?, which was selected for Cardiff Animation Nights and the International Black Film Festival in Ontario, Canada, where it was nominated for Best Animated Film. She is currently a teaching artist at Wide Angle Youth Media where she cultivates a fun and adventurous space to explore multi media artwork. When she isn't creating, Najja spends her time writing her novel, knitting scarves, and reading her current romantasybook obsessions.
