How Was Your Day? is a multimedia animated short that blends 2D animation, puppetry, and modeled 3D sets to tell a heartfelt story about an eight-year-old boy navigating a simple dinner conversation with his two moms. The film was animated over the course of a year using TVPaint, with backgrounds built in Maya and physically crafted puppets and props using scrap fabric, buttons, and trinkets to evoke a sense of nostalgia and warmth. From puppets to paper cutouts, every element is lovingly constructed to reflect the wonder and awkwardness of childhood storytelling.
